Soop is a London based design studio headed by top chef Wai-Lian Scannell. Very excited to be stocking her new laser cut rings in store today. The set is named ‘The Enchanted Forest’ and features various cute forest animals and characteristics.

The rings can be worn individually or in multiples for a layered effect. We particularly enjoy the creativity of the designer and the whimsical touch of the rings.

Hobart based artist Cat Rabbit contacted us earlier in the year with the suggestion of creating a unique window display for our shop with her cute and quirky creations. We were intrigued by the prospect of a window display, but had no idea how it would look. After eager anticipation she dropped by to create her installation with incredible results.
The display features her handmade one-off plush toys, hand-painted wooden jewellery, original artworks and limited edition prints and is truly delightful! It has received a great deal of attention, people stop and linger at the window for ages and we can’t stop staring ourselves.

The display will only be instore for a limited time, I highly recommend coming down and seeing it in person!

Obon and the Anatomy of Intuition
I was lucky enough today to check out Melbourne based artist Tai Snaith’s current exhibition “The Wild Chorus” at Helen Gory Gallerie in Prahran.
Pictured in odd still lives, combinations and arrangements, the work features things Tai has collected, inherited, nurtured, grown and read. Addressing the fact that as humans our lives tend to fill with things as we grow older. It deals candidly with Tai’s own habits, failures and procrastination, seeking to give voice to her instinct – her wild chorus.

It's only a time before you wake a sleeping giant
We currently have a selection of Tai’s gorgeous greeting cards instore featuring her original artworks. One of my favourites features this gorgeous wooden deer design “To have and to hold your breath”, also on show in the exhibition.

To have and to hold your breath
The show runs until the 6th March. Check out the Helen Gory website for more info.
